Pickerings are committed to ensuring there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in our supply chains or within any part of our business. Our suppliers will be expected to reflect our commitment to acting ethically and with integrity in adhering to our values to ensure slavery and human trafficking is not taking place within our supply chain.

We operate a number of internal policies which require we conduct our business in an ethical and transparent manner. These include:

An anti-bribery policy which sets strict limits for the giving and receiving of gifts or hospitality.

recruitment policy which includes the requirement to conduct eligibility checks for the right to work in the UK. Furthermore, Pickerings only use specified, reputable employment agencies to source labour.

whistleblowing policy which encourages all our staff, customers, and other business partners to report any concerns related to our undertakings, or that of our supply chain.

Further steps

Pickerings have put in place a Modern Slavery & Human Trafficking Policy. Furthermore, we are contacting existing suppliers to confirm that they have taken steps to eradicate modern slavery and human trafficking and that they pay their employees at least the national minimum wage / national living wage, as appropriate.  Moving forward we are looking to establish Key Performance Indicators to monitor the effectiveness of our work and our suppliers, to tackle modern day slavery.

Information / Training

To ensure a high level of understanding of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking within our organisation and supply chain; we will provide information to all our current employees through our Human Resources protocols and to new employees in our organisation.
