Working Well Together with Pickerings

On the 23rd June 2022, Pickerings assisted with a local HSE event called ‘Seven Deadly Sins’ held at The Matford Canrre in Exeter. The focus for this event was the need for and importance of welfare to reduce risk and accidents for employees on construction sites.

This event invited companies within the Construction industry to listen to guest speakers from HSE and provide demonstrations. Topics covered on the day included:

  • Presentations on Dust, Asbestos, HAVS and Welfare
  • Demonstrations on Use of Cat and Genny, Excavations and Scaffolding
  • Included the opportunuity to ask questions from those within the industry as well as HSE inspectors

The construction industry has taken huge strides forward in tackling risk and reducing injury rates over recent years but still has a significant opportunity to make our high hazard industry safer and to drive down the alarming rates of accident and ill health linked to construction work. This free half day event provided self employed builders and small construction companies with practical up to date information, help and advice. The information given on the day will help you take action to protect you and your employees’ future health, safety and wellbeing.

Pickerings supplied a 16ft Mobile Eco Welfare for the event which enabled us to showcase how important the excellent standards that we set on our product specification and compliance. Our Administrator Charlotte also baked some delicious cookies for the occasion. Well done to all involved at our Exeter Willand depot!
